We are committed to sourcing sustainable palm oil.
• We have worked with our palm oil suppliers to understand their commitment to positive environmental and community practices.
• We use U.S. Department of Agriculture-certified organic palm oil in many of our bars, which ensures a strong ecological approach to palm oil production. Currently, 100 percent of our organic supply is Rainforest Alliance certified.
• Our organic supplier of palm oil was recently granted 100 percent Rainforest Alliance certification.
We are currently working with our suppliers to identify where we can increase the percentage of organic and/or Rainforest Alliance certified palm oil.

Starbucks to Eliminate Uncertified Palm Oil by 2015
Starbucks has agreed to purchase 100 percent of its palm oil from certified sustainable suppliers by 2015, according to Green Century Capital Management.
Starbucks made the change in response to a shareholder resolution filed by the Green Century Balanced Fund, which describes itself as an environmentally responsible mutual fund. Green Century was concerned about the environmental practices used to secure palm oil for many of Starbucks’ food products.
The company has agreed to become a member of the Roundtable for Sustainable Palm Oil, and work with Green Century towards delivery of the palm oil commitment. (Click On PIC)
